Red for the ones that were torn away from their civilization and families and brought to a new world

Red for the ones that were chained, beaten, and traded

Red for the ones that fought for their survival

Red for the ones that fought for their rights

Red for the ones that were lynched

Red for the ones that sacrificed life for their loved one and posterity

Red for the ones that were murdered

Red for the power of the people

Red for the strength of the people

Red for the love of the people

Red for the ones that are here today

Red for my people that are here today

And Red for the people of the future.
